OSPF load balancing algoritham

I have two equal links to remote site and running OSPF over them for load balancing. However it looks like the traffic between the same two endpoints is always going over the same link (is this even possible??). What I would like to achieve is: if I have 10 connections from end point A to endpoint B...

Re: 5 SW stack with high CPU%

Check for:
1) port "flapping" - it won't be hard to spot just search for the interface with a huge amount of status changes
2) spanning tree activation - "show spantree ports blocking"

None of the above is handled appropriately by 6602 switches and will cause the CPU to go to 100%.

i am trying to find how i can disable telnet and enable only ssh access on an omnistack ls 6200. Can someone help?
Just do the "no ip telnet server". This will disable telnet. If it does not work update to a more recent software revision.

Re: Preparing flash for 6602

hello q-ant; it did boot with a card from a working 6602. (and vice versa) so there is definitely smth wrong with the cf (smth logically i guess) You can copy the flash contents from working device and just try to copy them on the problematic card (you may want/need to format the card before). It i...

Re: How to get information on unused port

This is most likely not the right method but it works (i've been using it on OSR's): you can do "show rmon statistics ethernet eN", the port which has 0 octets/packets has not been used since the switch was last turned on. If needed you can do the "clear counters ethernet" and come back one week (or...

Re: vMotion- transferring Virtual Machines kills Network

Have vMotion separated from the vlan needed for victual machines using different physical interface for vMotion. Also I believe that the team in charge of virtual infrastructure can limit the maximum bandwidth the vMotion will take. I _don't_know_ but I vaguely remember seeing that somewhere. You co...

Re: Preparing flash for 6602

This is the current situation: we've managed to replace the CF cards but only with the card of the same size, meaning if you have a 64MB CF card you must use a 64MB original. The same for 128MB. We didn't manage to put AOS on any other size of the CF card yet, which is a hassle because 64/128MB card...

Change backup folder

I would kindly ask the moderator to move this to the OmniVista v3.4. subfolder. I posted here by mistake. Sorry and thanks. Hi all, we have a need to change the folder to which switch backup is done. Please note I am NOT talking about the folder to which the server backup is done. Currently it is i...
