Re: I would like to know how to shutdown OmniSwitch 10k

Hi, like written last time. If the VC is synchroniced and certified (show running directory) than all the ways are okay for un-powering. With shutdown-command you should first shutdown the slave (chassis 1) and than the master. But also the other way will work without harm. For powering on - you sho...

Re: TrapClient Lease has expired

I do not know this issue....
But in my opinion you should not spent a lot of time to find out a solution with this very old installation. You can use your OV-Licence 4.x also for the newest release 4.5R1. I recommend to make a frish installation at a ESX or HyperV Server.

Re: Switch stacking issue

Remove all the vc-files in the new one, power down it, connect it to the VC and power up.

Re: change from VC mode to standalone mode

Standolone or VC is indepentend how you use your switch (L2 or L3). The very onliest reason is the very big problem to write commands with 1/1/1 instead of 1/1. Btw: I am not an developer at alcatel ---- I give you only my advice. And in my expierence there is no real reason for standalone. I assume...

Re: change from VC mode to standalone mode

Question again: why do you want to set a switch in standalone mode? Better is to keep the switch in vc mode with only one chassis. There is realy no reason for the standalone mode (but you can look in the switch management guide). During the time something has changed (f.e. with the qestion at the s...

Re: I would like to know how to shutdown OmniSwitch 10k

in your case you can unplug your power surce in any order (no other way to shutdown). Make sure that your vc is certified and synchronised.

For more secure you can isolate the chassis (is not a real down - only ports are down) before unplugging: virtual-chassis shutdown chassis-id 2

Re: Lanpower issue

Hi, have you tested with other poe devices (phones, other APs)? Try with a new release, check your miniboot. In the knowledge base in the BP I have found this issue for your release in article 000041573. But there is no real solution/explanation for it. You can try something in the dshell. And if th...

Re: TrapClient Lease has expired

In my opinion/expierences reboot will work without problems - but you should start it from the cliadmin console. For secure take a snapshot of the machine before the reboot. Also a down of the OV server makes no harm to your network. OV is "only" for monitoring and configuring the network. So your r...

Re: DNS-REPLY traffic triggered user-port shutdown of interface

you have configured the userport feature at your access ports. At port 1/24 some device has answered to a dns query. Check your config with > show configuration snapshot qos Check the violation with > show interface port if there is a port down (permanent) you can release it with > inteface 1/24 cle...
