Re: BFD is down but opsf is up

BFD bound to OSPF but is BFD enabled on the interfaces? You should see an error when you configure it this way. If you are using CPM filters and deny all without matching BFD then you may need to match it there. BFD uses UDP 3784. Warning: Making a mistake with your CPM filters can bring your networ...

Re: Virtual 7750 SR Available in 12.0.R4

I know mc lag doesn't work for sure. It's a limitation of the software. I remember trying to get lacp working for my lab prep but it didn't work. Configuration was 100% correct so I just used real hardware for that aspect. Slow protocols tend to get dropped by a bridge that has the ability to suppor...

Re: Band Control

You can't really achieve per service policing when you set the bandwidth restriction on the port. The simplest way is to create sap-ingress and sap-egress policies and assign them to the SAP. For example to rate limit ingress to 1meg: config qos #create a policy that applies to traffic received on t...

Yeah it works on the original version but not the extended model. I message Fred and see what he says.

Re: LDP Session -- "Nonexistent"

LDP establishes its TCP session between the system address by default so as has been pointed out you cannot form a TCP session without reachability of the system address of each node. If you look at the debug router ldp ipv4 packet hello detail you will see when set as default the transport address ...

Re: how to tell is device is PE or CE

Or check LDP
show router ldp interface
If youre really bleeding edge you may be running segment routing.

If you are using a VPLS and the middle is a 3rd party providers MPLS network then your devices will be CEs as VPLS is an L2VPN and your VPRN might be considered vrf lite.

Re: BGP conditional advertisement

Bug scrub and test any release you plan to deploy in production! You cant rely on the vendor to alert you to all the issues in a release, they probably rely on you to report bugs to them.

Re: IP forwarding - NRS 1 exam topic

If you don't understand longest match then you should revisit the topic, this is fundamental to forwarding. If you have kit or VMs then lab it up, look at traceroutes, look at router debugs and see your packets using wireshark. How it works is the longest prefix length (highest numerically value) is...
