Cannot connect OV client remotedly

Post by mikes »

Hi, all;

I installed an OV2540 server/client on a win2008 server, locally client works fine but I cannot connect to it from a remote OV client.

Here is what I see on the server:
1. the firewall is off;
2. local client connects to the IP 10.0.64.234, port 1127; remote does not;
3. there are several listening ports on the server besides 1127: 5357, 5389, 5636 - I tried them all, none work.
4. I can connect to the server fine with a RC, so it's not a network issue.
5. I was trying to sniff client traffic on a server - got the impression that server doesn't respond to any of the packets to
the port 1127. Haven't tried to sniff on a client machine, though..

Here are my questions:
1. Does anyone experience something like that?
2. Are there any logfiles for the OV 2500 client only installation? Where are those files?
3. How do I see/modify OV server settings such as listening ports, IP's, etc?

Thanks,

M.S.

Hi. I am not an expert but I hear my colleague complaint about this. Try not to be behind a NAT or try using a VPN. Regards.

tincho.rn - thanks for your reply; I am not behind NAT, just a routed network.

I figured it out - it turns out the 2008 server DOESN'T PASS traffic even with its firewall disabled(?!); I've opened 2 ports: 1127 and 52130 - and everything was cool.

Thanks again,
