hello
I'm not a expert in snmp.
The only I know is to make the switch repond to snmp queries

Re: Enable SNMP - Omniswitch 9700
hello! i've managed to get SNMP working between omniswitch 6850 and a snmpwalk in same network, but i can't get it to work between my snmpwalk host and omniswitch 6850 in different but reachable networks, in example i have omniswitch1(10.1.1.1/24), omniswitch2(10.2.2.1/24) and snmphost(10.1.1.254/24), connected to omniswitch1. i'm configuring both devices with same conf:
user nms password password read-write all no auth
aaa authentication snmp "local"
snmp security no security
snmp community map "public" user "nms" on
and i get snmp output from 10.1.1.1, but i can't get output from 10.2.2.1 - is it because snmp host must be in the same network?

Re: Enable SNMP - Omniswitch 9700
No there is no such requirement.
can you ping omniswitch2 from you managment station?
If not: Routing correct?, DefaultGateway set?
In most of the times the management Station does not reside in the same network as the switches. It will work.

Re: Enable SNMP - Omniswitch 9700
Deactivate the firewall at your snmp server. Mostly this is the reason. Like devnull has written mostly the management servers in different subnets.
