OMNI 6602 switch error message
OMNI 6602 switch error message
Hi , members,
Recently our omniswitch 6602 with Software Version 5.1.5.83.R04 had once unexpected reboot, after checking switch log, found below error messages. Does that means this switch has hardware issue, or some other potential issue.
Also some duplicated IP information showing on this master switch (VRRP IP owner), my understanding is some VRRP Advertisements lost between master and backup switch, so both announced to be master at short time, then caused duplicated IP infomation. is that correct?
Really appreciated your response. thanks.

Hi,
your output includes errors from 2008. Here you can find info regarding duplicate ip. Are there any PMD files after reboot?

The creation of a dump file indicates a problem with the switch. System related dump files can be viewed through CLI but other dump files cannot. For system related dump files use this command:Capture the output of this command. In addition, if there are any dump files created in the switch, they should be downloaded through FTP to forward them to technical support. Technical Support can have them analyzed to find the source of the problem.Code: Select all
show log pmd cs_system.pmd
Re: OMNI 6602 switch error message
Thanks for your reply, I have no PMD files so far.
From 2008 till now , the log shows 3 error message , all seems like system crash.
ipmfm :IP Multicast Forwarding
sesMgr :Session Manager Task
taIpni :IP task on a NI
Could you give me more details about duplicate IP? Actually the link shows 5.1.5.75 R03 maintenance build and above records these messages every 30 seconds by default, but my switch has "Software Version 5.1.5.83.R04 Service Release, " why couples of duplicate ip showed in one second each time, then disappeared some days, later show again. that is why I am suspecting it caused by VRRP Advertisements. is that right?
Best Regards

Hi,
No more details. May be in Intermediate Release Notes you find more.
You're running sill a very old SW. There have been much more recent versions:
OS6600 5.4.1.591R01 Maintenance Release (12.0M) 06/28/2011
OS6000 5.1.6.578R02 Maintenance Release (12.0M) 04/05/2011
OS6600 5.1.5.363R04 Maintenance Release (10.0M) 04/27/2007
Perhaps simply update to new release?

Hi,
normally you have to check with you local business partner, by the dealer who sold you devices.
You can use Alcatel-Lucent Business Partners Locator to search the BP.

Re: OMNI 6602 switch error message
Hi,
I'd rather update to 5.4.1. I'm not sure about miniboot, rather not. Please refer to the attached infos.
