Post by aiman07 »

Hi,

I'm so new in using alcatel product. I need help in configuration backup.

How to backup configuration file of both switches using cli and web view?

Thank you.

for cli :

activate the ftp
-> aaa authentication ftp local
use the ftp application, the switch must have an ip interface, connect your ftp application to the switch and find the file of "boot.cfg" in working directory then apply backup.

another is a simple way,

use putty or any terminal and copy the logs you entered. then apply
-> show configuration snapshot
or highlight the configuration snapshot and copy then paste to the notepad.

hope u understand my explanation.

Both ways are mentioned in the Manuals.. just open and search them.
You may want to backup your users as well which is in a seperate file.

For TFTP is there a way to enable or disable TFTP?

the switch acts only as tftp client. So you need admin access to the switch. But it should possible with a policy to block the tftp port (udp 69) from/to the management ip of the switch (= network group switch).
