I'm just curious.
Why would you need to remove the binaries ?
Why not remove only the main configuration file ?
This will be like a fresh start !

1. removing boot.cfg only leaves logfiles, userdatabases, banners, dhcp configs, aclman files aso intact.
2. I think it's policy.

If you remove any data that can contain restricted info (logfile containing IP Adresses, userDBs containing usernames as..) you should be fine.

I have customers that require used/replaced hard-disk of PCs to be shreded. Don't ask them about using a hard-disk wipe tool. #
They have to prove that the harddisk was physically destroyed. (a hard-disk shredded to pieces of 5mm looks really nice)

Use another USB Stick..

needs to be FAT16/FAT32 and is picky about sticks.. try some (preferable old) Sticks that you get as gifts

Removing everything, and being able to prove it is removed allows one to move the switch from one computer system to another. The trick is ensuring that all DoD regulations are followed so that one does not do the Hillary and expose classified information to the general web.
