Omniswitch 6850 - DHCP - ip helper issues

Hello,
we have several Omniswitch:
Alcatel-Lucent 6850-24
Software Version: 6.4.3.520.R01 GA, April 08, 2010.

There is a dhcp server that in the beginning was linux, later change to windows server. This dhcp server is in a vlan, for example VLAN 4.
There are three VLANS (96,97,98) for enabled dhcp clients. Each vlan interface has its own ip helper <ip of dhcp server> command.

The problem is that the 96, 97 and 98 vlans clients doesn't get its ip address. The wireshark on the client shows the DISCOVER without any answer from the server. Wireshark on the dhcp server don't see any dhcp traffic.

I saw a similar case on this community, the problem was the AOS version, "Build: 6.4.4.694.R01, Summary: Multiple issues with DHCP Snooping and IP helper". This was solved with an upgrade (6.4.4.569 to 6.4.4.707).

Please, I need help, I need some Alcatel guru confirm if I had to upgrade the swiches AOS.

It is a long time ago.... but there where releases where per-vlan ip-helper didn't work correctly. So you can try to use "global" ip-helper, or make update to the newest release.
also you should ever set the ip-helper forward delay to 0.

as you see the release on the switch is Software Version: 6.4.3.520.R01 GA. What is the minimun release to solve those issues?

Just test whether a newer firmware fixes the issue.
If unsure either oben a SR or read the changelogs by yourself?
(i doubt that any of us here knows that info right away..

Like devnull is writing: we are not supporter from Alcatel. And we don't read all the release notes for you (in this case from some years). If you use the newest release than known issues should be solved.

Release notes mention a parameter or variable called allowRoutedReplyOnClientPort.

"PR 194646 Build: 6.4.4.694.R01.
...... As a work around for this scenario, if allowRoutedReplyOnClientPort is set to
1 , offer packet will not dropped if it is received on client vlan."

How can I use this allowRoutedReplyOnClientPort. How (where) can set this to 1?

This is an old switch. I have not been able to find the download page, only docs.
I'm stuck because this is a production environment, is not easy change the switch, because this is the switch with the uplinks to the vSphere vSwitch.
I know, the infrastructure needs many upgrades.
