Load balance on lag

Do you know how the 6850 make load balance on 2 link that configure as a linkagg ?
Base on ip , mac ?
Can i config it to make load balance base on source mac ?

in my knowledge the ip will be used if the packet has an ip header. In extended mode the udp/tcp port will be also used. So I don't think that the mac can be used for the decision.
