Hi all,

got an Information from Omnivista with that message

Code: Select all

Trap Received: pethPsePortOnOffNotification

Severity: Warning

Synopsis: Pse Port Detection: 1.

Agent: IP
Agent Name: huja

Variables (if any):
sysUpTime=x days, 21:17:21.00
snmpTrapOID=.1.3.6.1.4.1.6486.800.1.2.1.27.999.0.1
pethSourceSlot=1
pethSourcePort=20
pethSourcePortDetectionStatus=2
pethSourcePortStatusChangeReason=Port On due to Valid Sig (Res/Cap)
so i saw one power supply was down (internal) .. went to the Switch an disconnected the power cable for some secondes and after that the PS was there again. (I recognized this sometimes at POE Switches after a reboot --bug? )
The message for the PS came also that it´s back again-

Ok..so far so good... but the above message still come again and again ..so i wonder what this means?

Someone an idea - how to stop or clear the issue?
Thanks a lot

Regards

Pse Power Sourcing Equipment - means poe-end-device.
So in your case the poe-device (ip-phone or accesspoint) attached to port 1/2 was powered down .

Hi Silvio,

thanks for the reply ... with some tests i thought so too... , and indeed there was an flapping AP which caused that.

Also if some new poe devices are attached the message come up. Thats quite good.

per default there are also a trap is the poe device is coming up. But the severity of this trap is per default "normal". For poe down is it warning. But you can change it in omnivista.
