Dear,
Our customer has installed OV3.5 when he tries to execute a script via the trap responders, it doesn't work.
just executing manually the bat or the VBscript outside of the OV works, but when it should be doing this due to a configured trap responder, it doesn't.
Sending mails does work, but executing the script doesn't.
We created a bat file that only creates a logfile on the server, when we execute this outside the OV: the log file is created. When a trap with the corresponding trap responder should activate the script, it doesn't work.
Here is the configuration of the responder, is there something wrong with this configuration?
Kind regards,
Thomas

Re: OV 2500 notification responder fails to execute bat and VBscript
Hi,
I have had the same issue some years ago. Here the answer from Alcatel Support:
We have received an update from our Engineering team with the sample configuration of Trap-responder to run an application on the server.
Please use the following configuration:
1. Launch Windows Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services
2. Stop Omnivista Server service
3. Right click on the OV service and select Properties
4. Go to Log On tab, check „Allow service to interact with desktop“ and Apply
5. Start OmniVista Server service and run your test
Replace the arguments with a real file name on the server in the start directory (real path on the server).
regards
Silvio

Hi tds85,
I have the same issue. Could you lend me the .bat file for the script. I don't know how to that Omnivista executes a script when it receives a trap.
Thank you

Sorry, unfortunately it is not working yet, I am still investigating, the moment I have a solution, I will let you know;
Re: OV 2500 notification responder fails to execute bat and VBscript
Hello, we got it working now.
In the command that should be executed, you need to enter the complete path (a bit unlogical because you need to enter the start directory too, but like this, it works!)
kind regards,
Thomas

Re: OV 2500 notification responder fails to execute bat and VBscript
Hello All,
I'm currently running OV2500NMS, version 3.5.7 and having the same issue listed above. I cannot get the OV responder to start any application or my VB script. I've tried changing the setting in the OV Server services and providing a full file path in the command field. Nothing seems to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Nina
