caller name for external caller with 4 digits

Post by mejust »

Guys

I need help here , I cant put my finger on the problem.
I have incoming calls where the "Calling Number" has 9 (912365789) or 4 (3533) digits .
I created a table with abrrev numbers by range where I relate the calling number with the name for 9 digit and 4 digit numbers.

The problem is when I receive a 9 digit number I can see the name of that number on my phone but when I receive a 4 digit number i only see the number and not the name .

I can´t see where the problem is .

Any Clues here .

My PBX is a 4400 with R11.0

Hi,
I do not know how is you callback translator configured for DEF, but try creating one new entry like this:
Basic number=3533
nbr digits to remove=0
digits to add= --->leave it empty

Hey Sadmin

Sorry for not answering right away .
OK I did the test an yes it works

Can you please give me an explanation on how its work .

Im asking this because I can´t see the relation, and well I have been reading the documentation related to callback translation and I just would like to know how can I control the incoming calls.

As you suggested I created the number an in my abbreviated table nº 5, I put in the name and the extension.
When the call came in the phone showed the name . 5 stars there

But the problem is that name that showed was not related to the name in abbreviated nº5 but but yes the name in that I was testing in table nº 3 before asking for help.

First Question : Where can I tell the PBX to choose the right table ( abbreviation by range).
Second Question : I have more calling numbers with four digits all starting with 3 , you gave me an example for one , how can I tell the callback translator to read more than one 4 digit calling numbers and compare it to my abbreviated range table and show the name .

Must I create one by one ?

Thks in advance

Hi
ExtCallBackTranslator converts the ANI number in case of incoming calls. Normally it should be converted to the number that the OXE user must dial to reach that external number.
When you have several abb. nbrs with same number, OXE selects the first one that was created, or the one with the lower index (i do not remember, but you can make the test). So in your case, better delete one of them, and well manage the remaining one.
For the 2nd question, you can create:
Basic nbr=3; nbr digits to remove=0; digits to add=
this will cover any number starting by 3
