CPU8 Blank after BIOS Setup
Hi,
I'm trying to install a Linux to a CPU8 and I'm having a problem. After I set the BIOS boot priority and Save/Exit I only see Blank (No response).
This is the third time because the first two I send it for RMA with same problem, now the unit from Alcatel RMA has the same output.
I had a CPU8 installation before implemented and I am successful on those two customers.
Thank you,
Jon

Re: CPU8 Blank after BIOS Setup
Yes, I solve it by using Tera Term instead of Hyperterm tool if you are using PC INSTALLER. The board LED indicator will lit only when you finish your OXE linux installation.

Hello Jon,
Thanks for you quick reply!
I use ZOC terminal and never had any problems.
I will check out Terra term.
Did you use any special settings?

Hi Jon,
bad luck - it doesn´t work.
I Have tried Teraterm, Putty and Hyperterm.
I also tried another serial cable.
Now I will ordner another new CPU8...

Re: CPU8 Blank after BIOS Setup
Hello @ all,
using S.O.T. with "Linux RAM for OXE" will solve the problem.
Console now is present.

Re: CPU8 Blank after BIOS Setup
Hi all
i want to share my story for you:
I upgraded the CPU7 to CPU8 ----WITH OUT any additional cable.
1. i plugged CPU8 to slot 6 and 20 and Did NOT change any cables in backplane. Then just JUST got serial connection for CPU8 on slot 6 ONLY, and CPU8 on slot 20 could not get serial connetions
2. I used serial connection on CPU8 - slot 6 for Software loading. i could see Boot message. and tried to Ctrl+B for BIOS setup but after very hard to access it and when i in BIOS setup screen, i could not change menu and seltion option for change boot sequence, tried may ways and sofftware (putty, Teramterm, SecureSRT, Hypertermial.) . BUT still COULD NOT control BIOS setup.
the finally, i tried remove RMAB board on BRMA box then i could EASY to Ctrl+B and control BIOS menu.
