Problem download binary to 4038

Post by a.neumann »

Hi folks,

today i installed a OXE System with two Appliance Server and Release 9.1 Patch 16.c

We installed about 300 Sets (4038 IP Touch)

The Problem is:

When the Phone starts first Time, the binary update of the Phone starts.
On 280 Sets the Update works fine, the Phone starts normaly and we put
the Set in Service.

On the other 20 Sets, the Update starts, but at the "Data Block"
the Phone says "bad file content" and reboot.

After Reboot the Set is not working. There are no "Umlaue" ö,ü,ä etc.
After registering the Phone at the System, the set shows BAD in the Display
And restarts after a couple of minutes to flash again with the same error.

Does anyone have an Idea?
I searched the Alcatel Database and found the TC1300 but i do not have a aditional
line in the lanpbx.cfg File.
Remember 280 Sets are OK only 20 does not work.

Best Regards

Hi Andree,

yes at my company is the sam problem.
All 4028 / 4038 phones work correct. The most 4068 phones are ok. But some 4068 show the same error.
The phones boot in text mode (without graphik or layout), display 'BAD' and can't present ä, ö; ü.
It seems the binaries are not ok or false for this telephone type.

Do you or somebody have an idea to push the correct binaries to the phone?
At the moment we send all this phones back to Alcatel.

Did you already create a service request at Alcatel-Lucent?

Seems to be an issue with only some of the sets (although 20 out of 300 is quite a lot).
Are all the sets that have the issue from the same fabrication date?

The 20 phones that are BAD, are they all on the same data switch? Have you attempted to move one of the BAD phones to a different data switch or plug directly to the LANX to see if it would work?

Not at me: different switches, other locations. It's crystal-hardware without LANX.

Thankyou

We have the same issue on site. The site contains around 3000 extensions. The first 2200 where installed with release i1.605.14e and 16c. The last 800 where installed after the upgrade to i1.605.21. Quite a lot of sets give the problem now. Before the upgrade this didn't happen.

The first two parts of the software load correctly, the third and last part fails. Sometimes the problems solves itself but most of the time we end up replacing the set.

I hope they are able to solve this soon,

Regards,

Rens
