i've never need to do this in newer flexlm systems. i think it is not necessary since the used licensefiles by lmgrd are in subfolder "final_licenses". they are generated each time the flexlm-service is started based on the *.ice file in $LICENSES_HOME and the servername is automatically inserted.

Still you need to change the hostname on the flexlm license file, is a must on all flexlm deployments

Today morning i replaced "this_host" with "flexlic" in my .ice file. Then I restarted flex server. Unfortunately it didn't help.
I still have messages "23/12/16 10:08:40 000001M|---/--/-/---|=4:0642=FlexLM (192.168.7.63-27000) : Network breakdown with the server 1 15" on my CS (command incvisu).
I tried to restart CS too, but it didn't help.

I don't remember exactly. I'm quite sure i was flaxlic.localdomain. I cann see this host name in General Information of the machine (VMware).
I'll try to install FlexLM once again and check it.

Read TG0084.
Like suggested above Flexlm uses domain name resolution. Pay attention to your reverse DNS config or hosts file configuration.
Many things solved like Frank mentioned in 11.2 (check release notes for flexlm stuff)

Hi,
I created DNS server, reverse DNS and I changed host name in first line of .ice file.
Now situation looks much better. I have no messages about communication errors between CS and FlexLM.
System worked all day without rising the Panic Flag, so I think this part of my system is OK.
I'd like to thank very much all of you for help. I'm a beginner in ALE systems, so I'm sure I will ask you about other basic things in the nearest future.
