Providing all on-site voice system PBX Operation and Maintenance (O&M) for all Customer's companies and associated facilities in accordance with the OEM specifications of equipment. This includes O&M on hardware, software, ports, common equipment, station, trunk and cards. Moves, adds, changes and disconnects will be a part of the primary responsibilities as well as providing and updating infrastructure documentation and reports, providing security support, inventory control, change management, preventive maintenance and training as required by the Customer.

The primary responsibilities of the PBX Technician include but are not limited to the following:
• Install, setup and diagnose and solve problems on PBX phone systems, network and data equipment.
• Route and install cables and test lines to ensure appropriate signal quality.
• Perform installation, maintenance and troubleshooting on Key PBX systems.
• Testing, troubleshooting, cutting over, and turning up of phone lines.
• At customer premises locations identify demark, pretest and install IAD and loop testing.
• Troubleshoot telephone system hardware/software, voicemail, and telephone set and feature issues on site and remotely.
• Analyze VS systems and make recommendations for modernization.

Required Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or other related technical discipline AND 8 yrs. of telecommunications experience installing and cutting cable lines. 8 years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• OEM Certification.
• Experience with basic VoIP; VS PBX systems.
• Prior experience setting and testing of telephone sets, installing new cable jacks, IDF crosscutting and documentation.
• Familiarity with resolving PBX problems and Critical PABX failures (e.g. Emergency Replacement System PBX).
• Experienced with VS, Key and PBX phone systems.
• Ability to work individually or in an Agile team setting.
• Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills.
Desired/Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Government Agency contracting experience; VA preferred (VBA/VHA).
• Cisco certifications.
Experience with the following systems: Alcatel-Lucent, Omni Private Communications Exchange (PCX) 4400 solution, Applied Voice and Speech Technologies (AVST) CallXpress server, Trivium call accounting
solution, Genesys/Alcatel-Lucent virtual hold solution, Innovative Electronic Designs (IED)
8000 Series public announcement system, Gordon Kapes 922 system
