release 12.0 with two appliance server and two intip3 as ioip3 boards

Post by gpapadaki »

We upgraded a system from release 3.0 (two cpu5) to release 12.0 (two appliance server with two intip3 as ioip3 boards). The shelf with the two ioip3 boards is an act28 .
The two ioip3 boards come in service (one master and one slave) only after we switch of the power supply of the shelf and switch it on again. The problem is that some cards do not come into service. The cards that do not come into service are positioned from 18 up to 27.
The other problem is that If we reboot one ioip3 board the board does not come into service again. It only comes in service if we remove the Ethernet cable from the other ioip3 board. In this case all the cards stay out of service.

Try to slot the cards one by one. After an upgrade many times all boards trying to download binaries can create a bottle neck.

Thanks for the help we have done this already. If ioip3 (position 1-6) is in service cards 1-17 are in service. If we reboot this card it is stays out of service. Even if ioip3 in position 1-20 is in service all cards are in status out of service. The system is unstable. If we reboot the shelf sometimes only one ioip3 goes into service sometimes both go into service.

As I understand - you ordered an upgrade recently. So - you have SPS (service contract). Request help from your ALU business partner.

Hi,
Did you check PSAL, this is very important in case of INTIP3.
Also did you check Power Supply, perhaps power supply is near is limit. Did you add more boards ?

All IOP3/AS - in the same IP network?
For IOP3/AS - used one Ethernet connection or two (in one switch or two)?

Hi Vad,
INTIP3 are more sensitive then AS, so you can have issues with INTIP3 and no incidents. I had already this issue on the past.
