Telnet to GD3 board problem

Post by ssinclair »

Hi,

I have a number of Media Gateways each located in a different site. Most of them I can telnet to in case I need to reboot them but 2 of them it does not let me telnet to them. I have done a mgconfig on both of them and verified that "Telnet Server" is set to open.

1. IP N/W Mode IPV4only
2. View/Modify IP Addresses
3. Crystal number 9 (Manual allocation)
4. IP QoS menu VLAN disabled
5. BACKUP menu (Not Available)
6. Duplex and speed mode menu auto
7. Download binaries timeout 1800[ms]
8. Security
9. Telnet server open
10. Archive log files
11. Allow shell commands usage not allowed
12. IPV4 Forwarding
0. Exit

When I try to enable telnet from the Main system using ippstat and option 21 it says it's a bad crystal or coupler.

there is no need to enable telnet. for gd3 just use cpl_online command. and enable use of shell commands while 1st connect...

Thanks tgn and oldboy. I can now connect remotely to these MG's with both of these commands. It's just a bit strange that I can use normal telnet to connect to 2 of my MG's and I can't with another 2 MG's.

One more question. What is the command I should use once I have remotely connected to these MG's to look at the log? Is there a command that I can use that would give me the same detail as incvisu does on the Main OXE?

Thanks.

there are some log files in /var/log. you have to use linux commands like less or more to look inside them.
