High density of users in one site

hello there

guys, do you have any experiencie on high user density dect installations? I mean, sites where many base stations are requiered not for coverage purposes but for a high number of users?

my customer wants to move almost all their users from analog sets to dect; I performed a Dect S.S and verified that 7 base stations are requiered to cover any floor of their building and that any bs covers both upper and lower floor as weell.

the thing is that we are talking about 700 users on spread in 3 floors and obviously 7 bs are not going to be enough.

I did some calcs and (if done correctly) 15 RBS/DAPs are needed to support 300 users/floor.
Discarted IBS because seems to requiere around 25 BS / floor.

My concern is, are those 15 bs/floor going to interfere with each other?

Would you go with IP-DECT rather than RBS? is IP-DECt as good as RBS (or even close)?

thank you in advance

DA

Density is not a problem. The problem is that OXO supports only 120 DECT sets maximum and 50 IP-DECT sets maximum.

hello there!

Thank you for your comments; I'm afraid that I did not mention that it is OXE what we are talking about :-(

best regards

So ask moderators to move this topic to an appropriate section.

For OXE 700 users and 15 RBS is quite a simple case.

15 per floor?
That is 45 RBS in a 3 floors building 105m long / 45m wide.

As I said, I have some experience in less populated DECT enviroments, but nothing as big.

thank you

David.

Sorry for late reply but this will not work well in my opinion.
The DECT handset has internally a list of max 10 base stations.
I believe this could result in trouble if they are busy.

In case you have done it already let me know how it works.
Please keep also in mind that a distance of 3 m between two base stations and WLAN if exists is recommended
if I remember correctly

I forget to let you know that you have also keep in mind the number of timeslots and channels available over the available carriers.
This could be a problem too.
