R.9.0 . ldap connectivity config

Hi all,

I am installing OXE R.9.0, i am facing issue with connectivity to ldap phone book..it's a external ldap conectivity..i don't know what to put it in LDAP config in OXE. please find below my config am i doing anything wrong..

Node Number (reserved) : 1
Instance (reserved) : 1
LDAP Phone book : 1

Server Name : hqdc ( server name . i can ping from oxe )
Server Port Number : 389 ( default port number )
User Identification : alcatel ( user name created in active directory )
Directory Root Entry : o=alcatel (this where i am stuck i don't wht to write down here )

User Password : ******
Confirm : ******

I would suggest you use a ldap browser to find the root of your searches, i use softerra, you enter ip address port and user name and password and it should resolve what you need.

And after creating this external ldap, don't forget to activate the system option 'use external LDAP overflow' and connect the LDAP to one or more entities.
Otherwise the users will not be able to search the overflow directory at all.

Hi all..

thanx for the reply..i used softerra to find my root it gave me the list and it's connected via softerra but from pabx still i can't get the names...plz find below my config...any other suggestion

Have you done what freedom told you to do? If you have when you do a search if the name is found in the internal and also the LDAP you should get a phone book on your handset to do the extra search. You should also get an alarm within incvisu indicating that you have in facted connected to the ldap phone book if configured correctly

Hi ..

Yes i did wht freedom said system parameter "phone book overflow on ldap server" is true....i don't have a alarm in incvisu saying ldap phone book is configured correctly..i have been trying this past three days no result...any other idea folks..

check connectivity with external LDAP server with client_ldap command

What do you mean?
Post the output of this command.

Did you change the Entity parameter to search on your LDAP?
