Greetings,
We have a web directory in my company but are not using it because it is not up to date. I am trying to find if it is possible to update the web directory automatically from the OXE's phonebook and how.
Is it possible to export the phonebook and make my own web directory with click-to-call ? Has it been made before ? Are there any exemples / documentation ?
The OXE is in R11 and Web directory is in 8770.
Best regards.

No, what you can do is use ldap to read entries from your directory so OXE will be aware of them.

Ermmm...again, if you use the ldap one will be ok.
OXE you need to update its own database manually. A external database can't be used to update internal one.

what is your goal? please describe "make my own web directory". will you really create "something new" or are you trying to change the 8770 directory to get closer to your needs?

Re: Update the web directory automatically from the OXE's phonebook
Are you talking about Omnivista 8770 Web Durectory? If yes then OXE user's data it shouild be automatically updated in Omnivista Web directory.
There is no need to export anything.
You can use STAP (Simple Telephony Application Protocol) feature for click2call but you need license for that in OXE.
Check chapter 12 Company Directory from 8770 Administrator Manual.
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.
Re: Update the web directory automatically from the OXE's phonebook
Yes, we are using Omnivista 8770 Web Directory. Our service provider told us it was impossible to have it automatically updated from the OXEs phonebook. We are trying to display short numbers in it (the 4 digits numbers (idk the proper term in english)) and having it up to date when we make modifications.
I was talking about making my own web directory b/c our service provider told us it would be impossible to do what i said above so we were looking at an alternative.

Re: Update the web directory automatically from the OXE's phonebook
if it is proper configured in 8770:
the procedure for the 8770 webdirectory is to change names in the webdirectory only. then (if the entry is linked to an oxe user) this namechange will be synced "down" to the oxephonebook.
if you change the names in oxe the link between the directory entry will be lost.
as alex say... you can use stap protocol to dial direct from the directory. also there is a plugin to use the directory with 4059 attendant sets.
so i think you doesn't need an own webdirectory...

Re: Update the web directory automatically from the OXE's phonebook
Yes, after talking with my manager we decided that creating a web directory wasn't needed. I am talking right now with our service provider to figure out if we can use the "pref.num.direct" to display user created number in the web directory.
