Normally the volume should decrease during the camp-on signal only.
After the signal the call volume should go back to the original level.
Is it reproducible?

less headaches? for who? The user of the 4059IP now has to use a keyboard, a mouse, a handset and a telephone??

4059 MAC/PAC = mouse + keyboard only.

4059IP = cheap ass Alcatel cutting costs.

I agree with Frank, the MAC/PAC was always a pain in the ass. No customers would ever buy the PC from Alcatel and always ran into compatibility issues. 4059 IP doesn't have PC compatibility issues.

how is buying a PC with a serial port or installing a serial card a pain in the ass vs now needing 4 arms to drive the stupid IP system? I think you haven't seen a MAC/PAC installed properly? I worked with staff who had the old system and now spew about the 'new' and 'better' system. I old keyboards were ideal for business that employed handicapped staff as operators and the new system is no good for them either.

The only difference is you have an 8 or 9 series phone that is your handset or headset instead of the handset or headset connecting to the keyboard.

I have plenty of MAC/PAC's still out there and working fine...I just hated dealing with the serial connection and drivers.

To each their own.

Does the 4059IP with a 4029 (voice path) support volume control for ringing? The volumne increase and decrease on the keyboard makes no difference and the volume on the 4029 cannot be changed when in attendant mode?

I think it was configurable in the 4059 settings. F11? Can't remember it. Melody and Level can be adjusted there. Userguide?
