4635 loading

Hi,

I have a question about Voice Mail 4635 loading.

I have read the documentation about 4635 loading and I have done the following:

I copied the bootnet folder including bootpd, tftpd and rcatd applications from OXE R8.0 installation CD.
I created etc folder in C: on my computer. I have put there bootptab file including the following lines:

DHS3.dummy:\
:ht=ethernet:\
:hd=/a4635:\
:bf=kernel.ram:\
:vm=rfc1048:\
:hn:\

DYNAMIC_IP.dummy:\
:tc=DHS3.dummy:\
:HOSTNAME_PREFIX=vps:\
:NB_FREE_IP_ADDR=10:\
:FIRST_FREE_IP_ADDR=192.168.1.20:

I also have folder C:\bootp containing kernel.ram and and file a4635j.cfg containing the following lines:
#!CFG-A4635-BOOT
Kernel /bootp/kernel.ram
Cmdline X35=F:/a4635

CD-ROM drive is under F: and I have 4635 installation CD in drive.

I have assigned the IP 192.168.1.5 to my PC, connected vps35 board with the V24 serial cable 3BA58107AA and 10/100 base T cable 3BA28210AA directly to my PC (I also tried to connect LAN cable 3BA28210AA to connect to my PC via switch).

I started bootpd application on my PC. I turned the VPS35 board and in BIOS I choose to boot from ethernet.

The VPS35 board starts searching for server, but then I got the message SERVER NOT FOUND.

What am I doing wrong here?

Check if you have not a firewall on your PC server. Check the logs of the firewall.
You can use wireshark to see if 4635 send packets to your network (broadcast).

The bootp request is on port 68, like DHCP and the respons from 68.
After the dynamic IP configuration, 4635 use tftp (port 69) to get the software.

Step by step - when 4635 starts searching for server - do you see something in bootpd window?
If yes - check bootpd.log

so i am guessing i am on the right way.... i will try from another computer, because i also had problems with cpu loading from that computer.

there is another question:

The customer gave me studio recorded announcemen for the voice guide to play when the call is transfered to voice mail. How do I load that voice guide to 4635 board and where are this kind of voice guides on the hard disc of 4635?

the bootptab file needs to be on your root drive in a folder called 'etc'

as follows:

c:\etc
