TFTP server error

Post by MartinB »

Hi guys

First time ever I am getting this issue
I have an issue with IP phones on rel 9.1 (I1.605.26).

I have loaded the Targets and deliveries. Created empty database and loaded the OPS files. Created the lanpbxbuild file.

It is a standalone cpu. The system comes into service and the phones see the binaries, downloads, flushes, I get 5/5 connecting and then it says on the screen "tftp server error"
under incidents on oxe I see "02/07/14 13:13:56 001001M|---/--/-/---|=2:0746=Configuration error during the download of a TSC/IP set"

In incinfo it tells me I must check the lanpbx.cfg file. which I did and it is correct.

The pabx is not connected to the network now and I have a phone on a power supply connected directly on the pabx. I can ping the phone via the pabx but phone keeps saying tftp server error.

please help?

thank you
regards

Martin

Thank you Oldboy.

That was the issue. I wanted to get phones to download binaries etc. did not think it had to see an extension on the pabx to start up....
What a stupid mistake! haha

thank you for the info! much appreciated.

It doesn't make sense that binary download should have anything to do with an extension on the pabx as one only associates the extension to the mac of the phone once the phone is up. So it was a common mistake. no need to be sarcastic. At least I admitted it was my mistake.

Hi

My goal was not being sarcastic, don't get angry with me. I got surprised because the commom step is create an extension before everything. Sorry.

dont feel bad Martin, I fell into that one.
had a site that needed to expand and went IP phone way. as they had no licenses I set up every thing then once licenses arrived I loaded them. then plugged a phone in and there you go TFTP fault.
spent 1/2 an hour looking at tftp/dhcp before i relised i had not configured a phone.
Best Regards
