As I recall the hdd was only needed for certain things, extended vm recording or auto attendant, maybe mlaa or call center but I don’t this that was on 2.1, it’s been a long time since I saw one. 2.1 would have been what 2001?

Lol it makes me feel old too mate, I joined ALE in 1998 when we were doing 4200, 4400, 4200 compact and the oh so amazing 4200 rack [emoji23]

Dear all,
I don't know about new cpus but on OmniPcxOffice CPU-1 R 2.1 doesn't need an HDD . It need only if you want to extend you vm timer.
The only memory that has I think is NAND flash memory.
Maybe you are talking about this.
