HDD Backup VPS 35

We have an old 4400 with a VPS 35 voicemail card.

We are trying to clone the HDD for backup purposes but everything we try seems to fail where the card will not boot the replacement HDD

Putting the original Toshiba 10.05GB IDE disk back on the card boots and operates fine.

We are trying sector to sector copying onto the smallest drive we have (40gb)

Are there any special tools or methods to get this to work?

which bios/softwareversion has the vps35?
maybe the problem is that your harddisk is not supported by bios...
also... if it is a very old version, better upgrade for security reasons (or use an external voicemail system)!

Its ancient!

I have just realised thst the hdd is only a 4200rpm so its probably to do with that

I have ordered one from ebay so will see how i grt on with that
