Cannot connect to 4635 imap server
Here is how I set up Imap on 4635 using alcatel PDF as follows:
2. CONFIGURATION
2.1. Actis software lock
This feature requires the Actis software 314 – 4635 My Messaging use = XX
XX is the number of users allowed to use this service.
It is necessary to create an application 240 and an application 241 in the 4635 so that the voice mail application can dialog with the Imapd server.
I loaded OPS files with 10 License and verified in spadmin

Access to the menu 17.2.1 External Application Management/Application Administration/Add Application.

Application Name : IVR LAN
Maximum Sessions Allowed : 144

Allocate the class of service above to users allowed to use this application.
I then put myself into COS i created above in 4760. I then configured 2007 outlook:
I selected IMAP
I entered my name
email
for user name my extension
for password my voice mail password
for IMAP ip address: the ip address of voice mail
smtp: the address of that as well
However when i check messages in outlook it say it is off line and cannot connect with the server. Any suggestions where to go from here?

Try to do a telnet to the port 143 of the OXE to see if the IMAP server is alive. You should see something like:

I telneted to imap and it says *ok [capability imap4rev1 auth=login auth =plain]

Ok that is good, so now lets manually test the user.
Once you did the telnet access write:
login [set number] [password]
Where [set number] is the extension number of your user, and the [password] is usually 0000 unless you changed it.

i mistakenly exited the telnet session without closing out properly and when i try to reconnect i just get a blank screen. What should i do? will it close port and should i be able to try again?

is the password the same as would be used to check voice messages or is it the default password 0000?
