Hi

I need some help. When I try to AHL.exe file, the system is giving me a runtime error 76 message. Followed installation instructions given and all went according to what the install doc says but as soon as I try to run the .exe file, I keep receiving the error. Have tried to unzip the whole simulator file into C: but still no change.

Has anyone tried this simulator working before? Can you tell me what I am missing here.
Appreciate your help.

Siti

Hi Siti,

Runtime error 76 is "Path not found". The simulators woks fine and I've just recently installed it on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit without any problems. You may have missed out something on the procedure.

Hi Ivan,

Which AHL Simulator are you trying to install? Is it AHL v1 or AHL v4.5 (old one)?

Hi ccube and thanks for your interest.

I've installed both. I thought 4.5 was for V24 simulation and v1 for AHL over Ethernet. The 4.5 version opens correctly after installation. For v1 installation I've followed the instructions in the pdf, registered the four 'dll's but when I execute it, I got a Runtime error 76. I think it's not necesary to have any Visual Studio to run the emulator.
I'm trying to communicate my app with a AHL telephone center over IP. I haven't access to the real telephone center until installation time so I need the emulator to implement and test the AHL protocol in my code.
Maybe just by creating the path the application is trying to access will work it out but I'm feeling more and more into the mud.

Thanks
Ivan

PS: Version 4.5 cannot be used for listening on a IP port, can it?

Hi Ivan,

I think version 4.5 can be used for AHL over IP though I have never tried it before. I always use V1 for AHL over IP. Is the AHL folder on Drive C (C:\AHL)? Runtime error 76 appears when AHL folder is not on Drive C.
