Ecs email filtering

now i can download my patches on my ecs how effective can is the ecs for mail filtering.

with clam av applied im still getting hundreds of spam. without entering the individual email address in the black list is there a more efficient way of filtering mail , this is causing major issues on a site that is hosting the company's email.
