‘Infocollect’ is a new tool now available in Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise Release 8.0 (G1.302.5). This tool can retrieve some general configuration data, incidents and other log files automatically. It generates a compressed file by merging the results of miscellaneous maintenance Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise commands that were executed on a CPU.
Once that file is transferred to a PC, it is possible to analyze it (after decompression) with an external tool (named OLCA) on your PC.
The purpose is to gather the most important information whichis mandatory to investigate a PCX issue.
Sending the ’infocollect’ result file into a service request is strongly recommended every time incidents & configurations are needed to analyze your problem. Therefore it is possible to analyze this issue "off-line". This new tool replaces the "olcrep.sh" program that was previously given to a certain number of field engineers. In the same way the PC analyzing "OLCA.pl" tool is replaced by "OLCA.jar".
The PCX tool is called ’infocollect’. The PC tool is called “OLCA.jar”.
The Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise tool is integrated in versions OXE R8.0 / G1.302.4 & OXE R7.1 / F5.401.21.
Indeed the compatibility is assured for any Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise release (starting from the ’E2’ version) that does not include this tool: you just need to install it manually.
