Call forwarding to cellphone

Post by helpdeskAU » 22 Feb 2019 03:57

Hello,

When we program our Alcatel-Lucent deskphone to forward calls to our personal smartphones, it shows the caller as being our deskphone instead of the original caller.

Is there a way to program it in such a way that the number of the original caller is shown on our cellphone when a call is forwarded?

Any feedback is appreciated!

Try system / other system parameters / external signaling parameters / Redirecting number used -> Set to YES instead of NO

Thank you for your input.

We tried enabling this setting but it still showed the caller as being our own deskphone instead of the original number.

Try system / other system parameters / external signaling parameters / NPD for external forward

You also have to make sure that your phone carrier will let you send a number which is not part of your DID range.
For example, in NA if you have DID range 800.555.1000-2000 , the carrier by default will NOT let you send a phone number out of this range.
You have to specifically tell them that you don't want to be filtered so you can send out whatever you want.

Hi helpdeskAU,

You can also try putting your PBX in rerouting. But as Frank said: your telephony service provider needs to activate DID spoofing for you.

- Login with OMC
- Go to 'system miscellaneouos'
- Go to 'system features'
- Go to part 3
- Change 'external diversion mode' from joining to 'rerouting'

This way numbers are rerouted to your destination number. If you trace it out (ISDN or SIP), you'll notice your PBX sending the original number.
If that's OK, but it still don't work, you have to contact your telephony service provider to activate the spoofing.

Good luck.
If I'm ever on life support, unplug me. Then plug me back in, see if that works...
