MLAA route to virtual terminal impossible?

Post by bcmir »

Hi all,
I want to point an MLAA menu to a virtual extension which in turn will have immediate diversion to a Hunt Group .. simple huh?
The MLAA does not seem to recognise Virtual terminals.

So I tried forwarding the MLAA menu to a Z extension (unused) which has immediate diversion to the same Hunt Group. The MLAA is able to point to it ok...BUT I am unable to modify the mailbox greeting of this Z extension... voicemail just says 'unknown mailbox number'. Perhaps I need to connect a terminal to the physical Z port and modify the mailbox there??

I am not physically on-site.. so testing a Z terminal is tricky..
Has anyone got any ideas on the best way to make the MLAA work in this situation?

What if you do substitution of that Z? That should work.

Thanks Cav, yeah that would work.
Ideally I wanted the customer to be able to change the greeting themselves by dialling the VM Hunt group. Substitution might be too many digit presses for them

I think if you do substitution one time will then create the VM box and learn you can access it.
Try it out, might work

Substitution is not working... it just hangs after I put in ext & password (I have activated RS feature on user)
None of the other extensions work with RS either

Remote Substitution..
I set the Remote Access code too (under system/passwords)
So I dial into the system, enter the Remote access Code, then the extension, then the user password...I get busy signal

CLI authorisation feature is disabled, so maybe SIP trunk is a problem

Hummm
Create a prefix as set substitution. Dial the prefix, will ask for extension number and pin. There you go.
Not quite sure what Remote Substitution you are talking about...DISA? That was not what I ment if so.

RemoteSubstitution.PNG
Yes I have it working at another site no problem (R10)
This one is OXO Connect R2.2

(On-site) Substition or Remote Substition/DISA ... all the same thing by different names I think.
Created the Public Number DDI for Remote Substitution..dial the DDI, it answers with a tone, I enter the Remote Access Code, then extension number and pin (OXO Connect seems to insist on the additional system-wide Remote Substition code as well.

Hmmm I don't know
