Two phone devices in one line

Post by georbe »

Hi,

I have an Alcatel 4200E PBX system. On this PBX system I have installed several DLC8 (digital) and SLC8 (analog) boards.

Whenever I plug two phone devices in one analog line (using a splitter) everything works as expected. The users can call from and answer from any device connected on this line.

My problem is that I want to connect one digital phone in a DLC8 board, and one analog phone in a SLC8 board, using the same extension number.
And whenever someone calls this extension number, I want both the devices to ring.

How can I do this?

Thanks.

Hi georbe

This is not possible with 4200. You must have two numbers, one for each extension.
Then, you may use dynamic routing to call both extensions with the UA set number.

Best regards.

Another soultion:
Create a hunt group (parallel) and make the two phone members of this group.
The number for the hunt group will be common number for the sets. Both sets will ring at the same time.

Then, to make it perfect, go to each subscriber, click the "Misc." button and fill in the number for the hunt group in the field "Alternative CLIP/COLP number" at the bottom.
Now the sets will show the hunt groups number at outgoing calls.
Fridays are the best.......
