ERP on fiber rings ??? Is it possible ???
Is it posible to use the protocol erp to form a ring made by fiber optic ? My client want to use the 6250 tu make his ring. I have read on the docummentation of this switch and as far as I´ve read the ERP only works with ethernet interfaces.
Re: ERP on fiber rings ??? Is it possible ???
Isn't it transparent whether there is a copper or fiber sfp in the dual - purpose slots both provide an ethernet interface, don't they?
AFAIK with only copper a ring of 100m length each is not that useful.
You need the Metro Model and when utilising the SFP for ERP can't use stacking.. but it should work..
(i have never used erp by myself)

Re: ERP on fiber rings ??? Is it possible ???
Hi again, I would like to know What is the disadvantage of using RSTP, RRSTP or MSTP in a ring topology?
I have a new project using a ring topology (I already have configured ERP but this new project has not enough budget even to buy a 6400 or 6250 metro, I would like to know if I can use RSTP to implement it.
Well again, thank you so much for your time
Regards
