Fan error after changing them

Post by pvtelviz »

Hey!

I'm having a problem with a OmniSwitch 6800-48L. We had to change the fans, but the original ones were not avaiable anymore, so we tried to get the best ones possible. They all work and the rev-controll works too. The LED is green and "show fan" says all are running.

The Problem is, the Switch continuously displays the following message in the command line:

TUE JUL 19 09:16:40 : PRB-CHASSIS (102) alert message:
+++ Fan #19 Failure!!
+++ Fan #19 !p_pos= 0,reg_val= 64,FanStatus= 0
+++ Fan #20 Failure!!
+++ Fan #20 !p_pos= 1,reg_val= 64,FanStatus= 0
+++ Fan #21 Failure!!
+++ Fan #21 !p_pos= 2,reg_val= 64,FanStatus= 0
+++ Fan #22 Failure!!
+++ Fan #22 !p_pos= 3,reg_val= 64,FanStatus= 63
+++ Fan #23 Failure!!
+++ Fan #23 !p_pos= 4,reg_val= 64,FanStatus= 63
+++ Fan #24 Failure!!
+++ Fan #24 !p_pos= 5,reg_val= 64,FanStatus= 63

The values change though...

Anyone have a idea on how to disable this? My guess is that the fans dont have the same rpm values as the original ones, so the ranges have to be changed accordingly.

Looking forward to your answers. Thanks in advance :)
