OS 6800-48

Post by rcdavi3 »

I recently purchased two OS 6800-48 from a government surplus auction, but I am having problems resetting the units back to factory. My first problem was that I did not have the proper console cable adapter, but I finally managed to get that squared away and successfully interact with the console. I have done lots of searching and came across a couple of different solutions, I finally think I have reset the password, but I am stuck after that point... From what I am reading, I have a corrupted flash, so how do I go about restoring it?

Here is what I have done so far using the instructions located at viewtopic.php?f=86&t=2356
Went through the VxWorks boot and changed the flag
Got into mini boot and removed the userTable3
Changed the boot flag back but now here is my current console output.... Please let me know what my next step is?

If you Image is corrupt or not existent you need to restore the image files from uboot with X/zmodem.
There are examples that you find here, e.g. http://alcatelunleashed.com/viewtopic.php?f=191&t=4436 or viewtopic.php?t=25661 which should help you.

The 6800 is EoE (end of everything) so you won't get any official support.
