Show MAC address table

Post by bogdand »

Hi guys,

I've been given access to a Looking Glass application and I'm trying to use a command implemented for showing the MAC addresses but it doesn't seem to work

ALU SAS IP: X.X.X.X
7210_# show mac
^
Error: Invalid parameter.

I was trying to find some documentation regarding the command but I really can't seem to find one. I want to check the syntax and maybe contact our admin for the LG app and settle this.

Could you please help?

Thanks
BD

Hi,

This will generally be service based if you're looking for a mac table.

The 7210 follows the same structure as the 7750, so should be:

show service id XXXX fdb detail

XXXX will be the VPLS service ID.

Cheers

Thanks mate,

I'll try to get my hands on a 7210 and check it myself and I'll post it back here. Thanks for the information, I'm surprised it's not a command to show all MAC addresses at once, not per VLAN basis.

That command is indeed the same for the 7210.

It's not all MAC addresses at once - the command is It's per service i.e. per VPLS instance. A MAC learnt on a SAP in one local VPLS instance is not going to be in the FDB table for a second VPLS service.
