IOM unplugged after electric shock

Post by Ronny »

Hello,

we have two 7750 SR7 with R8.0 in our lab which didn't find any IOM after eletric shock followed by power loss and reboot.
Both have the correct config running and there is no error in the bootlog.
But both are reporting all IOM's (IOM2-20g) as "provisioned" (5 IOM's in sum, 3 in one chassis and 2 IOM's in the other chassis).
The "equipped type" under "show card state" is complete emtpy.
There is no other IOM in the chassis which is working.
The power LEDs are on.
The state LED are off.
On the MDA's m2-10gb-xfp the LEDs for "Disabled Laser" are on.
The chassis doesn't report any alarm.

Does anyone has an idea what could be the problem here?

Maybe...the electric shock?
Ignorance is not the problem, the problem is the one who doesn't want to learn

jep .. for sure this could be the reason but that doesn't help me

I've took a look on the IOMs and both fuses looks intact.
And the IOMs doesn't boot in the former unused slots.
I have no other 7750 so I cant check the IOMs in other working chassis.

It would help me to know which part of the router can cause this condition.
Without any alarm in the system I don't know which part is damaged.
Otherwise I need to ship the whole chassis for repair ...

Seems to me that the memory have been impacted due to the electric shock.
What does Nokia Support report when providing them with tech-sup files?
My guess is that IOM is rendered useless, and is most likely just an expensive piece of metal now...

But, just guessing here...

Hi !

This failure occurs when some SDRAM memory is not being recognized, I have 4 of these, one I changed the flash memories and it worked, others replace the 46V16M16 memories directly on the PCI and it worked, but two were not successful ... I work with electronics I repair these equipments. However some configurations I am a layman.
