Hi Guys,
I have the follow issue, that at the moment I still don't understand what is wrong.
In a 7750 SR I run the following command "clear service id 500 sap pw-506:506 queue-depth" and this simply put a few processes's with 100% CPU capacity and I can not do anything else and I needed to reboot the equipment.
Do anyone knows why that happened?
is a clear queue-depth really such a huge problem?
kind regards.
Jorge
issue cleaning queu-depth in Pwire
Re: issue cleaning queu-depth in Pwire
Sounds like this issue documented in the SR OS Release Notes:
From the description it sounds like configuring the "monitor-depth" option might be a workaround.
[Edited reply to correct earlier statement that DTS #249752 is not fixed].
That first bug ID DTS #249752 is listed as fixed in 13.0R15 and 14.0R9.Executing the clear service id svc-id sap sap-id queue-depth command for a SAP that has an ingress or egress queue-override queue configured without the monitor-depth option can cause the active CPM/CFM to become unresponsive. [249752, 281598-MA]

Re: issue cleaning queu-depth in Pwire
Hi mivens,
First of all thank you very much for your answer, I was searching on the web for all over the place but nothing about this subject.
What you saying makes all the sense, just one detail. The version of my 7750 is:
TiMOS-C-15.0.R6 cpm/hops64 Nokia 7750 SR Copyright (c) 2000-2017 Nokia.
All rights reserved. All use subject to applicable license agreements.
Built on Mon Nov 20 12:58:19 PST 2017 by builder in /builds/150B/R6/panos/main
So maybe the bug persists.
kind regards

Re: issue cleaning queu-depth in Pwire
I don't believe it's fixed in R15 yet as it's still listed as a known issue in the latest R15 release notes. I would guess the next R15 rebuild will have the fix if it's already fixed in R13 and R14. It's also not clear why there are two bug IDs listed for the issue.
Do you have monitor-depth configured? If not, you might like to try configuring it to see if is a workaround.

Re: issue cleaning queu-depth in Pwire
Looks like this issue is fixed in 15.1R4 which has been released.
In the meantime, if you don't want to try 15.1R4, you could add the monitor-depth option to all your queue-override queue configurations.
The Technical Alert 18-0266b says the fix will also be in 15.0R9.Executing the clear service id svc-id sap sap-id queue-depth command might cause the active CPM/CFM to become unresponsive. See TA 18-0266b for more information. [249752, 281598-MA]
