[ASK] Static LAG fine tune to good distributed traffic

Post by thekotaksampah »

Hi Fellas,

Whether any possibility We can do to fine tune in static LAG? When We plan to achieve good load sharing. I did inter-working with 3rd party product and it's kind of end device cannot support dynamic LACP. I created static LAG, but the traffic is not distributed properly (there is hug gap in one port than other). But the 3rd party equipment traffic is looks beautiful distributed to me.

Thank you :)

Hi.
How are your load-balancing configuration?

On SROS13 you can configure some global load-balancing;

A:vSIM>config>system>load-balancing# info detail
----------------------------------------------
no l4-load-balancing
no lsr-load-balancing
no system-ip-load-balancing
no mc-enh-load-balancing
no service-id-lag-hashing
----------------------------------------------

Here are also some document that describes several options for load-balancing on SROS 14.

Hi,

Whether the global configuration can influence SAP interface under VPRN configuration? or We need additional config. Actually. I configure on PE nodes facing PS Core Equipment which is carry GTP Traffic.

Thank you very much.

For GTP traffic, you can also enable teid-load-balancing on an interface.

See the document that Stoffen posted above.

Thanks mivens and Stoffen,

I discover this feature. Meaning. If I configure under global interface. It will be impact to VPRN interface as well. Or I need to configure it under VPRN interface directly?

Thank you very much,

The system-level commands can be overriden for an individual interface.
Other commands (like the teid-load-balancing one) are per-interface only.

You can check the load-balancing on an interface with

show router interface <ip-int-name> detail | match Balance

and the system load-balancing with:

show system load-balancing-alg

Hi.
Please verify, are you using a LAG as access/hybrid, and you have issues when you have a VPRN with a "sap lagX:y" configured?

Hi,

I use access lag. no vlan encapsulation.
I read the conf guide. And found that TEID is configured under interface. And, I found documentation that mention its working for VPRN Network-Interface with SROS 13. But I am not sure in SROS 14 it's working for VPRN interface. Let me try guys. And share the experience :).

Thank you

Hi Fellas,

I just tried this. and it's works. But once you configure under vprn. You have to make sure configure the te-id on any interface direction (if using vrf lite). and configure under network interface and under vprn sap interface (if using PE mpls l3vpn).

I use SROS 14R8
