ISA-MS Hardware throughput

Post by mouthpiec » 28 Jun 2019 07:33

Hi,

With reference to the following document: https://documentation.nokia.com/html/0_ ... ISA-MS.pdf the following is stated:
The actual ingress and egress throughput will vary depending on the buffering and processing demands of a given application, but the ISA-MS hardware can support slightly more than 10 Gbps of throughput ingress and egress.
In case our chassis will handle more than 10Gbps, and we have 2x ISA-MS cards loaded with with same function (eg. isa-aa) ... will both cards work in parallel and achieve 20Gbps? Strangle enough I cannot find any related documentation.

thanks in advance

Hi,

You can have up to 7 to give you up to 70G, it is stated in the same document.

The MS-ISA is field replaceable and supports hot insertion and removal. See Figure 1. A system
can support up to seven active AA MS-ISA cards providing up to 70 G of processing capacity (a
system with seven active ISA2s on MS-ISMs provides up to 280G processing).

Thanks

the same applies for any application running on the isa-ms card (eg isa-ip-reas)?
