My IC Phone, Asterisk, Exchange, Video Conferencing

Hi at all,

I recently have thought on buying the My IC Phone. I have no Alcatel hardware. I am using an Asterisk server. So my questions are

1) Can I get the phone with Asterisk to work? And does it work with multiple SIP-Lines? Is there any example file how to have multiple lines, mwi, voicemail on asterisk? I only did finde the one in the wiki, but there are not all features explained.
2) Am I able to connect to my Exchange Server in order to get the contacts from there?
3) I would buy a camera and plug it in, is it possible to do video conferencing with other people not having a My IC Phone? And how?

I have no experience in Alcatel hardware. I hope someone can help me.

Hi,

From my personal experience, yes you can use the My IC Phone with Asterisk.
I never tried with multi lines though. No, you cannot connect the My IC Phone to an exchange server to get access to your contacts (unless if you write you own app for that ? ) and last I never tried the camera stuff, so i can't answer this one.

Hello Paolo,

You cannot update the phone to work specificatlly with Asterisk, but since the phone is SIP compatible, you can set it up to be an Asterisk client.

MMhh... I don t have docs on it anymore. Basically follow the MyICPhone documentation, and give it your asterisk server as a SIP PROXY IP ADDRESS in the XML file. That's about it.
