External Bell ringer for 4028/ 4018 handsets

Post by objohnuk »

Hi All
Im looking for an external bell ringer for IPtouch handsets. There is an RJ11 socket on the bottom of the phone that has a symbol of a Bell on it that i presume is for an external bell ringer.
There seem to be some posts on the interweb that relate to an Alcatel device but it seems it doesnt come with an actual bell in it which seems a bit pointless to me!
Has anyone got anny idea of what i should buy?
The requirement is simply to have an external bell ringer on these phones. we can do it with analogue phones easy enough with inline devices

there is a post here: http://old.alcatelunleashed.com/viewtop ... f=16&t=695, but it seems to be for digital UA phones not IP handsets.

Many thanks in advance to all constructive replies

Hi there

That RJ11 socket has a low tension, something between 1,7 VDC and 2 VDC.
We use 220VAC bells with an interface between IPtouch and the bell.

Regards.

thanks for that - im sure it will mean something to someone in my engineering department!
I'd still like to buy an ' off the shelf' product though if anyone knows of anything. it seems a bit daft that Alcatel put a bell symbol on a port on the bottom of the phone and then dont have a product to use on it - or am i missing something?

That is "off the shelf" product. 3gv28050aa is the Alcatel part number.
