We have a customer, that insistes on using 10G Base T (10Gibt/s over RJ45 Copper) with Intel X520-TA2 Server Adapters.
There a switches that support that:
Cisco Nexus (e.g.5596T), Cisco 4928, Arista 7100T, Dell, ...

Is there anything planned on Alcatel side (maybe a 10G-Base-T SFP?)
10G-Base T anytime?
Re: 10G-Base T anytime?
Hi,
Maybe not RJ-45, but Copper. They're called Directly Attached Cables. These are up to 7 meters long. Could be they are making them longer already
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Harald

Re: 10G-Base T anytime?
[*]As DAC cables are only 7m max they are not really comparable.
But i learned that there will be a t20/T40 6900 and expansion modules with 10 10g base t in the near future. They are already in the price list (pretty cheap)

You can use the OS6900-T20 or OS6900-T40 which have 20x 1G/10GBaseT or 40x 1G/10GBaseT respectively. There is also an expansion module available that provides installed-base customers with 8x 1G/10GBaseT.
