Broadcast forwarding on Virtual Chassis

Post by KernelPanic »

Hello guys,

im relatively new to the world of switching and AOS in special. I hope this question is not too stupid but at the moment im struggling to fully understand how the forwarding of broadcast and/or unknown unicast on a VC is working in detail.

Maybe you guys can shed some light.

Let's imagine we have a quite simple VC with two chassis interconnected over the VFL and a default configuration with STP and vlan 1 on all ports.
On Port 1/1/1 a broadcast enters the VC.
No doubt - the switch has to send the broadcast over the VFL and flood it out of all ports, except the entering port 1/1/1 - right?

Now let's imagine there is a second VC with the same configuration. VC1 and VC2 are connected on port 1/1/1 and 2/1/1. So we have two physical links on the same vlan without any aggregation.

And here's the question - loop or no loop?
I hope to understand how STP works together with VC.

Thanks in advance for your patience.
