Ominivta 8870 Adminnmc Acount locked
Hello
I have no way to reset my Adminnmc account password
I tried to use toolsOmnivista and I get a message that my account is locked . Through Directory Manager I get the same message.
Im stuck here , I can´t get in Omnivista which is frustrating and I really don´t want to reinstall because I know by experience that I will have to reinstall windows also .
Is there any way that I can unblock my adminnmc account so I reset the password.
Thanks in Advance

Hi,
are you keeping your password policies when creating a new password (unchanged period, length, history)?

Hi Rolfo ,
I can´t even get in Toolsomnivista to be able to think about password policies .
When toolsominivista asked for adimnmc password I get a message that my account is locked due to many tries.

So you start ToolsOmniVista, log in with the directory manager password, it stops services, you say Password Update and then number 4 in the following and then it does not let you?

1) Change directory: 8770\SunONE\slapd-8770\config
2) Edit: 'dse.ldif'
3) Modify line: nsslapd-rootpw: {SSHA}5lh……
New entry: nsslapd-rootpw: {CLEAR}hugo
(CLEAR means you can fill in the password in a readable format – like 'hugo')
DON'T SAVE THE MODIFICATON YET!
4) Stop service: 'Sun Directory Server 7.0 Control Center'
Stop service: 'Sun Directory Server Enterprise Edition 7.0'
5) SAVE the modification of 'dse.ldif'
6) Start service: 'Sun Directory Server 7.0 Control Center'
Start service: 'Sun Directory Server Enterprise Edition 7.0'
(The 'Sun Directory Server Enterprise Edition 7.0' should start automatically, if not start it)
7) Use the ToolsOmnivista.exe to change the password of the 'Directory Manager'; otherwise the password isn't encrypted in the 'dse.ldif' file.
