8770 SIP Device Provisioning

Post by sitig »

Hi All

I'm trying to wrap my head around how the SIP device provisioning works.

We've manged to associate the Users to the devices, but how do we push the SIP profiles to the devices?

I'm pretty sure someone out there have mastered this so I will be grateful for some insights into the matter.

Cheers.

Thank you Alexeik

I have been searching high and low for a hint but am unsuccessful at the moment...

I shall continue digging to get to the bottom of this.

Yes it's in the 8770 documentation but SIP device provisioning concerns only certain SIP devices - it's ALU 80xx sets and a couple of Thomson's sets.

Thank you Alex

Managed to get this working. I used the OXE as the DHCP server for the phones; so in the DHCP configuration, I created a class for the SIP devices with the vendor-id "alcatel.sip.0" and the TFTP server for this class, the IP address for the Omnivista Server was entered.

That did the magic for me.

Thanks everyone....
