OS6900 QSFP+ Gbic Compatibility

I have a situation that a need to connect a HP12900 core switch on a Alcatel-Lucent OS6900 datacenter switch using a 40G multimode optical link.

I have the HP X140 40G QSFP+ MPO SR4 Transceiver (JG325A) available to use on HPN and ALU switches.

Im afraid that the HPN tranceiver had a rescriction to operate on ALU switches.

Does anyone anyone ever used HPN tranceiver on ALU switches?

I never used HP SFPs on Alcatel, but from my Experiences the Alcatel Switche never had any problems with Thrid Party SFPs.
So unlike Cisco they don't fail when using a foreign SFP.
Alcatel TAC may be unsupportive if you don't use Alcatel certified SFPs, but i would just try to see whether it works.

Otherwise get a QSFP 40G SR4 from Alcatel
