Hello guys,
I`ve some ports on my 6900 with CRC Errors. Is there any chance to get informed via NMS 2500 software that CRC Errors are present?
Or maybe to get informed by NMS that a pre-configured Limit of Errors has been reached on a port?
Thanks
Alf
Monitoring Port CRC errors on 6900
Re: Monitoring Port CRC errors on 6900
I don't think so.. normally a CRC Error should not happen at all. It's a sign for faulty cable/connector/ mixing of single mode and multimode cables/faulty transceiver.
Clear counters and have a look once a week and figure out by hand or use scripting in Omnivista:

Also there is a feature link monitoring direct in the switches where you can create some threshold for port errors. And if the threshold is reached the port will be shutdown and a trap will sent. Maybe this is helpful too.
